Apa yang dimaksud dengan Personal Pronoun? Personal pronoun adalah kata ganti yang digunakan untuk orang (persons) dan benda (things). Personal pronun sendiri terdiri dari 4 fungsi yaitu personal pronoun sebagai subject, object, adjective dan possessive.
Kita akan membahas fungsinya satu per satu beserta contoh soal personal pronoun dalam kalimat. Sebelum kita bahas, berikut gambaran untuk personal pronoun sebagai kata ganti dan fungsi masing-masing.

1# Personal pronoun as a subject
Personal pronoun sebagai subject didalam sebuah kalimat bahasa Inggris.
- I want to return this book to our library.
- We will invite Mary to come to John’s birthday party

- He makes me happy all the time.
- She looks beautiful today.
- It has four legs
- They will meet me after school.
Personal pronoun yang berwarna oranye tersebut berfungsi sebagai subject dalam sebuah kalimat.
2# Personal pronoun as an object
Letak sebuah object dalam kalimat biasanya setelah kata kerja (yang dikenakan). Berikut contoh soal personal pronoun dalam kalimat yang berfungsi sebagai object:
- You need me to solve the problem.
- Don’t leave us here!
- I will take you to the airport.
- It’s Linda, I would like to speak to her.
- I will bring him a present.
- You have to take it.
- I will not let them hurt my little brother.
3# Personal pronoun as an adjective

Personal pronoun sebagai kata sifat ini adalah yang menerangkan kata beda. Fungsi kata sifat ini juga erat hubungannya dengan bagian ke-4 yaitu sebagai possessive (kepemilikan).
4# Personal pronoun as a possessive
Terakhir, contoh soal personal pronoun dalam kalimat bahasa Inggris yang fungsinya sebagai kepemilikan (possessive pronoun).
- This is my book
Kata book disini dimiliki oleh saya, artinya itu buka saya. Didalam kepemilikan ini, personal pronoun sebagai kata ganti bisa kita buat menjadi buku ini miliki saya atau ini (buku) milik saya menjadi This is mine. My book diganti dengan mine (milik saya) atau This book is mine. - I need to borrow your book next lesson. I need to borrow yours next lesson.
- I am using her computer now. I am using hers. (hers what? her computer)
- I think she really needs ours (maksudnya our help/bantuan kita)
- I am blessed to see his family. I am blessed to see his (his what? his family)
- I usually buy their products. I usually buy theirs (theirs what, their products)
